Blues battle back to draw with United

Chelsea came from two goals down to set up a replay with Manchester United in their FA Cup quarter final tie at Old Trafford.

With John Terry left on the substitutes bench, Frank Lampard captained the holders who looked to be heading out of the competition with just over ten minutes played.

Early goals from Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney had given the hosts a comfortable first half lead, before Eden Hazard pulled one back for the Blues with a superb strike just before the hour mark.

Ramires levelled with twenty minutes to play before Juan Mata had a chance to clinch a famous victory for the Blues at the death, though the Spaniard drew an impressive save from counterpart David De Gea.

The winners of the replay will face Manchester City at Wembley on the weekend of the 13 and 14 April.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail report that Chelsea have become front-runners in the race to sign Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao.

Manchester City are also interested in the Colombian, but with Atletico keen to keep hold of Blues loanee Thibaut Courtois, Chelsea appear to have the upper hand with the option of making a cash plus player offer.
